SPRING OUTING  |  BLOKHAUS
BLOKHAUS

Description

The Haus car tripped it up to LA for a healthy combo of architecture and debauchery. We caught up with Japanese architect Shigeru Ban’s Nomadic Museum on its stop next to the Santa Monica Pier. The traveling home to Gregory Colbert’s Ashes and Snow installation, the museum’s surreal interior commanded awe. Moneo’s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels was uplifting with its’ 27,000-square-feet of alabaster windows, the 151 million pound structure is built to last for the next 500 years.
No architectural tour is complete without an immigration protest. In between walking tours of Gehry’s Walt Disney Concert Hall and Morphosis’ Caltrans District 7 Headquarters, werkers witnessed and joined in with thousands gathered in downtown LA.

Poolside cocktails were enjoyed at the Viceroy Hotel before heading out for a smooth night at LAX club in West Hollywood.
