THE HAUS: STUDIOTHE HAUS The 11,000 sq. ft. studio occupies a 1910 brick warehouse building, formerly a shoe factory and more recently a rescue shelter. This building is part of Barriohaus, the one-acre urban compound in San Diego’s inner-city neighborhood of Barrio Logan, developed by Blokhaus. Clean, bold lines and white planes define open workspace. A series of 20 foot high clerestory daylights, steel trusses, wood joists and exposed utilities articulate the roofscape. A central, outdoor courtyard breathes further natural light into the space. Work stations and meeting areas are arranged to promote interaction, communication and idea-sharing. |
